OCI card in lieu of PIO for Minor

I would recommend you follow the steps in the same order as below, so that you have all the required information when you are filling out the forms. I wish they had these steps for me when I was doing it, I had to go back and forth couple of times and it  took a good amount of my time to get it done. Basically OCI is a 2 step process.
Process1:- We send application form and all supporting documents to CKGS. This will be sent to Delhi by CKGS and verified
Process2:- After process1 is successful then we will receive an email to send match up documents.This is simple step just one or two documents to be sent. So keep checking your email address that you specified in the application form.

Step1:- Register online with Fedex and get User ID and Password, then associate one of your credit card to the account and print a sender label with your home address as sender and destination will be OCI application process center address. We need this tracking number (AWB #) before printing the CKGS form.

Step2:- Go to Fedex/CVS/Walgreens and get 4 passport size photo of the infant and keep it ready. Need only 2 but keep 2 as backup.

Step3:- Go to Staples/Office depot and buy black or blue stamp pad/fingerprint ink pad. This way we can get the fingerprint of the infant in the OCI application form. Check whether it is right hand or left hand thumb impression, as it varies for boys vs girls

Step5:- Fill out the following forms and then take color printouts

1.OCI Application form - Fill it online and then print. After getting thumb impression of infant (Take multiple print outs of those pages that need infant finger prints as it is not easy to get proper finger print of the infant in one copy)  then go to notary and get it notarized and both parents should sign in front of the notary. Notary is available in any bank, UPS/Fedex store or sometimes your colleagues in your office will be a notary as well.

Step6:- Take photocopy of the below documents

Photocopy of infant USA passport pages (Refer OCI instructions page below for page numbers)

Photocopy of infant birth certificate

Photocopy of both parents - DL, Greencard/ H1-B Visa documents

Photocopy of parents Indian passport pages (Refer OCI instructions page below for page numbers)
Copy of residence proof, some utility bills

Once you have all the documents ready in PROCESS 1,ship it with the a copy of the checklist along with ORIGINAL passports,PIO card as mentioned in checklist. Then keep checking your email for updates. If there is any additional info required they send emails.After PROCESS1, your originals will be returned as mentioned in the link below
